My girl ! Ms. Purnell, my heart broke when I heard this news. I will miss you so much and all the laughs we shared. You still had so much life ahead of you. We never got around to doing dinner and a shopping trip. I love you dearly and I know your babies (puppies) are missing you so much. I will cherish the memories <3

So sorry to hear of her passing. I loved hearing her share stories about my Dad (Captn' Floyd Barnett Sr. and your father Mr. Purnell. Peace and blessings ... comfort and care to you all

I met Hilena in 5th grade at Bank Street School. I remember even then that she was warm and friendly and so funny! I moved to Florida many years ago so have been out of touch. I feel incredibly blessed to have seen Hilena last month at the Bridgeton High School 50th class reunion. She welcomed me with open arms as if no time had passed. RIP beautiful soul.
