George A. Williams , Jr.'s Obituary
George A. Williams Jr., aged 92 years, passed away on Friday morning May 6, at his home under the care of Hospice with his family by his side.
Born in Bridgeton, he was the son of the late George A. Williams Sr. and Pearl (nee Mosley) Williams and the husband of Elaine Fox Williams.
George and Elaine were married May 14, 1966 but have been a couple for 57 years. His first marriage was to Edith Loatman on June 8, 1941 and together they had six children. He was formerly employed with Cross Transportation in Bridgeton as a truck driver for 24 years. He loved fishing, watching ball games and car racing. He enjoyed his garden every summer and would work tirelessly to keep it and his yard just perfect. He and Elaine joined Friesburg Lutheran Church in 1972, where he sang in the choir and enjoyed life to the fullest. Above all else, he loved being with and spending time with his family.
Surviving him to cherish his memory is his wife Elaine, his children, George A. Williams Jr., (Genie DeCou) of Florida, Roland Williams (Darlene Durham Williams), of Hopewell Twp., Cheryl Smith of Virginia, Pauline Benjamin of Bridgeton, Patricia Christiansen of Maryland, Bruce Williams (Karen Mosley) of Bridgeton; a sister in law, Ann Mosley of Bridgeton; twenty five grandchildren, thirty six great grandchildren, and twenty great great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins and a multitude of friends. He was predeceased besides his parents, and first wife, by three grandchildren, and a brother Nelson Mosley.
Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Friday May 13, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. from the Friesburg Emanuel Lutheran Church 366 Cohansey Friesburg Road Friesburg, NJ. The interment will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call on Friday at the church from 11:00a.m. till 1:00p.m. prior to the services. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the SRAY-WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME, Upper Deerfield Twp.
