Betsi J. Salter's Obituary
Betsi Jane Salter passed in peace at the age of 83 on Monday, December 13. She is survived by her 2 daughters, Debra (James) and Dona (Richard), son Thomas (Melissa) and step-son Michael (Krista). Betsi lovingly raised her family in Bridgeton while supporting the community through her volunteer work at Save The Library, County Pregnancy Crisis Centers, Bridge The Gap Ministries and various church outreaches.
She loved reading and never stopped learning. Betsi knew that her strengths were in the medical field and first graduated Lankenau Hospital as a Registered Nurse. She gained a nurse practitioner license through Wider University and a 2nd masters in gerontology at Gwynned-Mercy. Betsi’s thirst for knowledge led her to Michigan State East Lancing/Cooley law school where she earned a law degree in Elder Law. She retired from United Health as an Administrative Nurse Practitioner.
Two of Betsi’s most treasured groups were The Research Club and Christian Women’s Club. She will be remembered as a force of nature and shining light through her faith. Betsi will be sorely missed by her family and all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held at Deerfield Presbyterian Church, 530 Old Deerfield Pike, Bridgeton, NJ on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at 11AM. Visitation with family 10 – 11AM. A life Celebration luncheon will follow.
