Though "Pop" and I never held the regularity of an everyday relationship between grandson and great grandfather, I've always had an unparalled sense of grandeur to the late Anthony Barnabei. He was a man that never failed to capitalize on life and make a lasting impact on his family and those close to him. Anyone who knew "Pop" is able to relate I find solace in knowing he has passed on, into the heavens with his wife, the granddaughter he never met, along with the other prominant figures that had so much to do with the person I am today. I love you Pop and you'll always be in my heart

To the family of Tony:

Tony was one of a kind. I met Tony from the fact Janet sang with the Vineland Chorus which my father sang in too. I was into fishing and I met Tony and we decided to go on a fishing trip to Canada along with my father Marvin Pearl.

We went on a charter in Lake Ontario near Toronto fishing for salmon. Tony was excited to get one
since I told him of previous salmon trips catching fish up to 25 lbs.

We first went on the charter and marked a school but they were not biting. Most fish don't bite when they're ready to spawn. The next day we fished the Credit River, and
found a known spot in the river where they were holding. We saw some jumping right in the hole but they just weren't biting. Now this was in October, and it was chilly outside and the water was 50 degress tops if that. Tony without waders went into the water above waist high to try and grab one by hand-unbeleivable!! Some Canadians fishing the same hole were howling with laughter watching this. He told them he drove 500 miles for a salmon and he didn't care how cold the water was-he wanted a salmon.

Well we never did catch one, but to me that was vintage Tony Barnabei. Truly one of a kind, and a hell of a nice guy.

R.I.P

Unfortunatley I couldn't spend the time I wanted to with my "Pop" Barnabei. Even though I was unable to spend the time I wanted to with with him, I still love him very much, and the memories I do have with him are unforgetable.
