William Dantzler's Obituary
William Dantzler, 84 of Bridgeton passed away early Thursday morning December 16, 2010 in Burlington Woods Nursing Home, Burlington, NJ after a seven day stay. Although he had been in failing health, his death was sudden and unexpected.
Born in Philadelphia he was the son of the late John and Lular nee Shuler Dantzler and the husband of the late Jane E. nee Gould Dantzler. Mr. Dantzler was a long time resident of the Bridgeton area , but had grown up in the Philadelphia area. William had worked as a Supervising Attendant at Ancora State Psychiatric Hospital for 27 years until his retirement in 1985. He also served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was honorably discharged. He loved Baseball when he was young and had played on several local teams. William also enjoyed playing Pool, going to the casinos and traveling with his late wife and finding new places to eat. His children said he knew every eatery from here to the west coast. He loved his family and enjoyed his time with his grandchildren. Surviving him are his two daughters Lydia V. Moore and her husband Gary of Alloway, and Marilyn Braxton of Bridgeton, one sister Annabelle Dantzler Gordon of Michigan, and Paul Dantzler of Philadelphia, his five grandchildren Stefanie Nutter and Lamont Sr., Quincy Braxton and his wife Heather, Jeffrey Braxton, Marcus Moore, Candace Morris and her husband Derrick, seven great grandchildren Lacee Nutter, Lamont Loper, Omar Noah Braxton, Cali Morris, Ricki Morris, Daron Summiel, Malcolmn Moore, his two great great grandchildren Alana Brent and Anthony Robinson Jr., one brother in law Charles Gould and his wife Lillian of Bridgeton. He was predeceased by four brothers Abraham, Alonzo, David, and George Dantzler, three sisters Geneva Dantzler, Wilhelmina Dantzler, Alberta Dantzler, and his son in law Omar Braxton.
