Wesley S. Thompson, Sr.'s Obituary
Wesley S.Thompson, Sr. 74 of Millville, died unexpectedly early Tuesday morning September 25, 2007 at his home.
Born in Cedarville, Lawrence Twp. he was the son of the late Howard Cuff Sr. and Amanda Thompson, and the husband of Joan L. nee Hayman Thompson. He had been a resident of Millville for most of his life.
Wesley was formerly employed as a mechanic for the City of Millville until his retirement. He also previously worked in the plumbing and heating field for several area companies including Bailey Fuel Co., Tirell's Plumbing and Heating, and Woodruff Oil Co. He was a veteran of the US Army, and a member of the Nanticoke Lenni Lenape Indian Tribe of Bridgeton. He enjoyed gardening and loved spending time with his family.
Surviving him besides his wife of 52 years are his seven children Gilbert Thompson and his wife Sherry of Vineland, Wesley Thompson Jr. of Millville, Jeffrey Thompson and his wife Kellie of Vineland, Wesley Greene of Ohio, Beverly Steward and her husband Emerson of Millville, Linda Mosley and her husband Oscar of Felton, Delaware, and Angela Lopez and her husband Javier of Vineland. One brother Howard Cuff Jr. and his wife Diane of Stow Creek, twenty two grandchildren Gilbert Thompson Jr., Stephanie Steward, Melissa Lisa Steward, Emerson Steward Jr., Steven Steward, Daniel Wesley Steward, Jennifer Banks, Wesley Thompson III, Damaso Thompson, Adrianna Mosley, Robert Mosley, Christopher Mosley, Jazmine Mosley, Amanda Mosley, Lisa Burke, Michael Mosley, Karen Stubbs, Javier Lopez Jr., Rebekah Lopez, Anjali Lopez, Jordan Thompson , Seth Thompson, and eight great grandchildren.
Besides his mother and father he was predeceased by two sisters MargariteYoung and Arlene Clark and one brother in law Hiram Young.
Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Saturday September 29, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. from the First Assembly of God Church 1700 Wheaton Ave. Millville, NJ. The Rev. Gerritt Kenyon pastor of the church will officiate. The interment will be in Gouldtown Memorial Park, Fairfield Twp.
Friends may call on Friday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the church and again Saturday morning from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. prior to the services.
