Walter L. Dawkins, Sr.'s Obituary
Walter L. Dawkins Sr., 47 of Vineland died Monday morning April 24, 2006 in the Oceana Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Cape May Court House. He had been in failing health for the past several months. Born in Greensboro, North Carolina, he was the son of Mamie Cornwell of Bridgeton and the late James Dawkins.
James was a construction worker and was lastly employed with Aztec Construction Co. in Vineland until his health failed.
Surviving him besides his mother are five sons Walter L. Dawkins Jr., Joshua Scurry, Terrance Dawkins, Aaron Dawkins, all of Bridgeton and Makal Telfair of Vineland, two brothers James Ricky Dawkins, and Reggie Cornwell both of Bridgeton, one sister Caroline Moore of Kings Mountain, NC, ten step brothers and sisters, seven grandchildren, Dynique Dawkins, Tajaneh Dawkins, Walter Dawkins III, Terrance Dawkins Jr., Joshua Scurry Jr. Shanece Dawkins, and Jashema Scurry. Besides his father, he was predeceased by a brother Michael Cornwell.
Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Saturday April 29, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. from the SRAY-WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME 62 Landis Ave. at Carll?s Corner, Upper Deerfield Twsp. The interment will be in Fordville Memorial Park, Fairfield Twsp.
