Virginia E. Valentine's Obituary
Virginia E. Valentine, aged 89 years of Plainfield, NJ and formerly of Cedarville, passed away Sunday evening January 21, 2018 at the home of her daughter under Hospice care. She had been in declining health for the past four years.
Born in Lower Alloways Creek Salem County, she was the daughter of the late Nelson Jr. and Dorothy (nee Dunn) Cuff, and the wife of the late Harold L. Valentine Jr..
Virginia worked at the JC Penney store in Bridgeton as a sales clerk for over 25 years, and had also formerly been employed with Mr. Biggs store also formerly in Bridgeton. Virginia was a former member of Mt. Pisgah A.M.E. Church in Salem for many years. She was a resident of the Cedarville area for 50 years and four years ago moved to live with her daughter. She enjoyed day trips, traveling, and spending time with her family. Virginia was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all.
She is survived by her four children: Andrea Cater of Forrest Hills, Texas, Eileen Valentine of Plainfield, Michael Valentine of Buena Vista Twp., Garry Valentine of Somerset, NJ, one brother Lawrence “Buddy” Cuff of Bridgeton, three sisters: Doris Street of California, Joyce Hopson of Salem, and Narissa Pierce of Fairfield Twp., twelve great grandchildren, several great grands and great great grandchildren. She was predeceased besides her parents and husband Harold, by sisters and brothers: Betty Wright, Hazel Gould, Elenora Cuff, Morris Cuff, and Leslie Cuff.
