Viola Telfair Gardner's Obituary
Viola Telfair Gardner, aged 79 years, passed away on Wednesday afternoon June 8, 2016 in Inspira Medical Center, Vineland.
Born in Swainsboro, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Oscar Telfair Sr. and Frozie Hall Telfair and the wife of the late Amos Gardner.
Viola was formerly employed as an associate with Ames Department Store until her retirement. She was a long time member of St. Phillips Missionary Baptist Church of Bridgeton and a member of the Henrietta Woodard Temple #1169 Elks Lodge. She loved joking with her family, traveling, and cooking fish on Fridays for family and friends. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
Surviving her is her daughter, Tonui Gardner of Bridgeton, her godchildren; John Lawrence, Tamesha Telfair, Lolita McNeil and Sharon Rumph, one brother; Simon Telfair of Vineland, and sister; Rose Telfair of Florida, three grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased besides her parents and husband by three children; Timothy Gardner, Tony Gardner, and Lori Lovette Gardner, brothers and sisters; Oscar Telfair, Rommie Telfair, Bertha Jenkins, Berthanell Telfair, Beautybell Phillips, Zebbie Telfair, and Lucille Smith.
Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Friday June 17, 2016 at 12:00p.m. from the John Wesley United Methodist Church, 90 Baltimore Ave. Bridgeton. The interment will be in Cedar Hill Memorial Park, Hopewell Twp. Friends may call on Friday morning from 11:00a.m. to 12:00 prior to the services at the church.
