Velma Loatman's Obituary
Velma Loatman , 85 of Greenwich Twp., Beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother was called home to be with the Lord , late Tuesday evening April 29, 2008 in South Jersey Healthcare , Elmer. She had been in failing health for the past year.
She was one of eleven children born in Greenwich Twp. to the late David W. Jr. and Mary Morgan nee Ridgeway Mosley, and she was the beloved wife of the late Sherman L. Loatman who passed away in 2005. Velma assisted her husband on their family farm in Greenwich for many years, and was well known for her knack of teaching others how to hang wallpaper. She was a long time member of the First Church of the Nazerene in Bridgeton, where she was once known as the church baker, she was also active when her health permitted, with the church Sunday School. She enjoyed sewing, flowers, and watching birds, but most of all she enjoyed her family and being a mom mom to her grand and great grandchildren. She leaves to cherish her memory two sons Gary Loatman and his wife Kim and her daughter Jill of Pennsylvania, Edgar "Sonny" Loatman and his wife Roberta and her daughter Tina of Upper Deerfield Twp., one daughter Mary Ann Ledden and her husband Harry of Greenwich Twp., one daughter in law Linda Vineyard and Ron Hambrick of West Virginia, her beloved sister Charlotte M. Coward of Fairton, eight grandchildren Martin Loatman of Hopewell Twp., Lori Loatman of Shiloh, Karrie Ann Loatman and Marty Ney of Delaware, Layla Loatman and Pal Moore of Delaware, Harry Ledden Jr. of Elmer, Adam and Andrew Ledden both of Greenwich, and Darryl Mosley of Shiloh, two great grandchildren Alissa Loatman of Florida, and Joseph Tobias Moore of Delaware, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased besides her parents and husband by six brothers, Ralph Carter, Charles Mosley, Forrest Mosley, Lester Mosley, David Mosley, and Floyd Mosley, three sisters Florinda Corney, Naomi Pierce, Dorothy Louise Mosley, and a daughter in law Caroline Pritchett.
