Thelma Marie Pierce's Obituary
Thelma Marie nee Sammons Pierce 83 of Bridgeton passed away on Thursday evening October 15, 2009 in South Jersey Healthcare Regional Medical Center, Vineland. She had been in failing health for the past several years. Thelma was a resident of South Jersey Extended Care in Bridgeton.
Born in Cheswold, Delaware, she was the daughter of the late Oscar P. and Letisha "Lettie" Sammons and the wife of the late Clifford C. Chick Pierce Sr., who passed away in 1998. She and her husband had lived for many years in Fairfield Twp. Thelma had worked previously for seven years in the Cumberland County Medical Center, now the Cumberland Manor as a Physical Therapist Aide and had also worked for a short time at the Bridgeton Nursing Home, now called South Jersey Extended Care. She loved playing scrabble with her family and doing word searches, but she especially loved spending time with her family and friends. Surviving her are her two sons John W. Pierce and Clifford C. Pierce Jr., both of Fairfield Twp. and her daughter Janet Street of Bridgeton, one sister Eva Mosley of Dover, Delaware, four grandsons SMSgt Michael Pierce of Whiteman Air Force Base, Missouri, John W. Pierce of Westminster Maryland, Phillip Street of Bridgeton, and Vernon Pierce of Fairfield Twp. eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased besides her parents and husband by her son, William M Pierce who passed away in 1987 and several brothers and sisters
