In Loving Memory of Steven Craig Sammons, Sr.
November 6, 1959 – December 10, 2024
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Steven Craig Sammons Sr., aka 16 Gauge, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who passed away after battling chronic health issues on December 10, 2024.
Steve was born on November 6, 1959, in Bridgeton, NJ to Vernon Sammons and Barbara Griner Sammons. Steve attended the Bridgeton Public School system as a child. As an adult, he was employed as a Maintenance Supervisor for various local companies. Beyond his professional life, he enjoyed riding his Harley, his precious dogs, watching his Eagles, Sixers, and Phillies win OR lose, hunting, fishing, watching TV, and taking time to enjoy sitting outside.
Steve is survived by his loving wife of 30+ years, Cheryl Sammons (Nitsche) and daughters, Linda (Jerry), and Barbara (Joseph), and sons, Steven (Christian) and Craig Sammons. He will also be missed by his grandchildren, Jada (Jordan), Olivia, Jayson (Veronica), Vincent, nieces, and nephews. He is also survived by his sister, Sharon Pierce, and brother, Dennis Sammons. He was predeceased by his brother George (Louise) Sammons.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 21 at Sray-Webster Funeral Home in Bridgeton, NJ.. The viewing will be 10:00-11:00 and service will begin at 11:00. He will be laid to rest at Overlook Cemetery.
