Shawn N Planter's Obituary
Shawn N. Planter was born September 1, 1973 to Mary Planter and the late James E. Planter of Bridgeton, NJ. She transitioned peacefully Friday June 30, 2023 surrounded by her family and friends. She attended Bridgeton High School. She also attended Cumberland County College and graduated with a degree in Paralegal Studies/Law. Shawn worked for many years at Prudential Insurance. She was employed with Prudential while pursuing her career at Cumberland County College. She was later employed at the Surrogate's Office in the Cumberland County Courthouse as a Principal Probate Clerk. She remained employed there until her passing.
Shawn was the creator of "Sweet Presentations" in which she expressed her creative and artistic side through baking cakes and cupcakes. She was a great cook and acknowledged by the family for having the best macaroni and cheese. Shawn also started a business endeavor with her son Kyron Planter, called Planters Pop Up LLC. Shawn loved and took pride in her home which is evident through various upgrades and remodeling, but unfortunately she was unable to complete her vision prior to her passing. In addition one of her greatest accomplishments in life was her children and making many memories with her loved ones.
She is survived by her mother Mary Planter, daughter Takyua Samuels, her son Kyron Planter, and daughter Juliana Planter. She is predeceased by her father James Planter, her brother Roderick Turner, and her sister Renee Ellis. She is also survived by her grandchildren Kailani Planter and Brycen Brown, along with aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and a host of cousins and friends.
Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Friday morning, July 7th, at 11:30 am from the SRAY-WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME Upper Deerfield Twp. A visitation will be held prior to the services starting a 10:00am. The interment will take place in Overlook Cemetery, Bridgeton.
