Sarah (Sally) L. Bonham's Obituary
Sarah (Sally) Lee Bonham age 94, of Hopewell Township passed away on Tuesday, May 26 2020. She had been in failing health for the last few months. She resided at the home of her husband’s family farm for all of her married life. Sally, as she was affectionately known, was a hard worker. She worked side by side with her husband and children in the farming functions: milk, vegetable, grain and egg production; and finally a retail butcher shop.
She was a member of the Deerfield Presbyterian Church and still active in her Circle and the Women’s Outreach Program. When her children were younger, she supported them in 4-H and West Cumberland Little League. She always enjoyed a social gathering: card clubs, over 55 luncheons and many travel experiences with C&B Tours. For countless years, during the summer months, Sally rented a house for the family to enjoy at the Jersey Shore.
She is survived by a daughter and son in law: Patricia and Stephen Strosnider; a son and daughter in law: Thomas and Kathy Bonham. She enjoyed visits from her family: especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many grand “fur” babies. She loved getting the “grands” playing board games (especially scrabble) and Uno, doing word finds, and working on jigsaw puzzles.
She was predeceased by her parents Virgil and Vera Batemen, her husband John (Jack), her sons: Richard and Lee.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Sray Webster Funeral Home. Cremation will take place at Camden County Crematory. At Sally’s request, there will be no services.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Angelic Health 8025 Black Horse Pike-Suite 501, West Atlantic City, NJ 08232, the Hopewell-Stow Creek Fire Company 751 Roadstown Road, Bridgeton, NJ 08302 or an animal rescue of your choice.
