Sarah Elizabeth Coker's Obituary
Sarah Elizabeth "Polly" Coker 90 of Ocean City, left this world on Saturday February 18, 2012 in The Shores at Wesley Manor in Ocean City, to be with her Lord and Savior.
Sarah was born in Fairton, NJ to the late Henry and Rebecca nee Mosley Durham, and was the last sibling of 13 children. She was the wife of the late Charles Ellsworth Coker, and they had formerly lived for many years in Palmyra, NJ. Polly had worked in her earlier years in the Navy yard, where she cleaned torpedo tubes during war time, in her later years, she was a homemaker and domestic worker. She loved gardening, reading and visiting with her friends and family. She was a devout Seventh Day Adventist who enjoyed reading her bible and going to church. She is survived by her four children Judith Durham of Mays Landing, Janice Watson and her husband Steve of North Carolina, Ella R. Coker of Millville, and Charles Coker and his wife Joanne of California, her grandchildren Terry Smeaks, Nathaniel Cuff, Morris Cuff Jr., Michael Ridgway, Jesse and Samantha Watson, Danielle and Casey Coker, several great grandchildren, and several great great grands, a niece Mary Ridgway, and nephews Donald and Paul Ridgway, all of Fairton, and several other nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by brothers and sisters Anna Ridgway, Priscilla Pritchett, Gertrude Durham Pierce, Rebecca"Kitty "Coward, Wilson Durham, Irving Durham, Hughee Durham, Henry "Dick" Durham, William Durham, Parker Durham, and Raymond Durham.
