Roberta M. Jones' Obituary
Roberta M. Jones 86, of Fairfield Twp. passed away early Tuesday morning September 1, 2009 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. She had been home for only one day, and prior to had been a patient at Rainbow Nursing Center.. She had been in declining health since May.
Roberta was born in Fairfield Twp., on March 4, 1923 and was the daughter of the late Thomas and Carolyn nee Gould Munson and the wife of the late Warren Jones. She had been an area resident all of her life. Roberta or "Sis" as she was affectionately called was formerly employed with the Bridgeton Board of Education where she worked as a matron for several years. She was a long time member of Trinity A.M.E. Church, Gouldtown where she served on the Usher Board and Missionary Society. She also was a member of the Nanticoke Lenni Lenape Indian Tribe of Bridgeton. Her kind and gentle spirit will be missed by all. Surviving her is her son Warren Jones and his wife Louise of Millville, one brother Elmer "Jim" Munson and his wife Beatrice of Fairfield Twp., three grandchildren Roberta Flores, Calvin Jones, and Raymond Robert Jones Jr., six great grandchildren Matthew Flores, Andrew Flores, Warren Jones, Gabriel Jones, Sidney Jones, Jordan Jones and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased besides her parents and husband by one son Raymond Robert Jones, two brothers Thomas Munson and Raymond L. Munson, and her sister in law Alberta Munson.
