Robert S. Pierce Sr.'s Obituary
Robert S. Pierce Sr., 83 of Newfield, passed away suddenly on Wednesday morning August 24, 2022 at Inspira Medical Center, Vineland. Born March 16, 1939, he was the son of the late John Robinson and Dorcas Rae Pierce and the stepson of Shellie Wilson who raised him. He was the husband of Lena (Saunders) Pierce.
Mr. Pierce worked for 35 years as an operator at Shieldalloy Company in Newfield before his reitirement. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, working in his garden, crabbing and spending time with family. He and his wife also enjoyed trips to the casinos. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 64 years, Lena, his children; Robert Pierce Jr. of Millville, Patricia Mosley and her husband Ephraim of Fairton, Oberlin (Chuck) Pierce of Indiana, and Betty Pierce of Millville, four sisters, Aretta Cuff of Atco, Carolyn Scott of Vineland, Delores Pierce of Franklinville, and Peggy Fleming of LA , eleven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. Besides his parents and stepfather, he was predeceased by a daughter Theresa Pierce, two great grandchildren Brielle and Brandon Nelson, four sisters, Betty, Mattie, Thelma, and Eileen, two brothers, John and Paul Robinson.
Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of life Memorial Service on Tuesday morning August 30, 2022 at 11:30 am from the Shiloh Baptist Church 1837 NE Blvd Vineland, NJ. A visitation with family will be held from 11:00 am till service time. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in memory be sent to the American Cancer Society 1818 Market Street Philadelphia, PA 19103 or to the Oncology Dept of Inspira Medical Center 1505 West Sherman Ave. Vineland, NJ 08360.
