My deepest sympathy on Bob's passing. I had the privilege of being Bob's piano teacher for a while. I was understandably in awe of his amazing playing ability as well as his gift for bringing such beauty and depth to the piano masterpieces he played. In looking back over my piano lesson notes from 2016, I had written that Bob discovered a new passion for playing the works of Felix Mendelssohn that year. At the recital, he played, Mendelssohn's Fantasie Opus 16, #3 and you could have heard a pin drop. At the end of the recital, he was awarded the music studio's "Overall Musicianship Award." Bob excelled in so many aspects of music such as sight reading, piano technique, interpretation of style and musical expression. Yet with all his talent, I remember how he took the time to encourage my younger students. I know that it meant a great deal to them. At lessons, Bob would often talk about his family and it was so obvious that he loved his children and grandchildren very much. I can still see his face light up when he talked about you. I'm praying that God's peace will surround each of you during this time of loss.
