Richard D. Gray's Obituary
Richard D. Gray 69. passed away on Monday, December 16, 2013, at his home. Richard was born in 1944 in Philadelphia.
His grade school years were spent at Vine Street School in Bridgeton, and he graduated in 1962 from Bridgeton High School. He attended St. Francis College in Lorretto, Pa., and Rider College in Lawrenceville, NJ. He was employed by E.I. DuPont Chambers Works as a lab technician in Jackson Lab. Richard was also the tax collector for Stow Creek Twp. for 12 years. Upon retirement he farmed in Stow Creek, raising cattle and hay on the Tide-Run Farm. Richard was a long time member of Friesburg Emanuel Lutheran Church and presently attended New Hope Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed the farm, chopping wood, crossword puzzles, reading, and taking country rides. He is survived by his wife Mary (Cornwell) Gray; parents, Richard and Marie (O’Neil) Gray of Stow Creek; his two sons, Richard A. Gray of Maryland and Jeremy Gray and wife Noreen Gray of Stow Creek; two grandchildren, Benjamin and Hannah Gray of Stow Creek; a brother, David Gray and wife Arline of Stow Creek; and his sister, Susan Robestello and her husband Joe of Upper Deerfield Twp. Funeral services will be held on Friday December 20, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. from the SRAY-WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME, 62 Landis Ave. at Carll’s Corner, Upper Deerfield Twp. His son the Rev. Richard Gray will officiate. Friends may call on Friday morning from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to the services at the funeral home. The interment will be in Friesburg Emanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery, Friesburg.
