Reny Joseph Scimio's Obituary
Reny J. Scimio 90, of Pittsgrove Twp., formerly of Toms River, passed away on Monday morning June 28, 2010 at home, under the care of hospice and surrounded by his loving family.
Born in New York City on July 16, 1919 he was the son of the late Anselmo and Maria nee Giordano Scimio and the husband of the late Margaret Ianuale Scimio who passed away in 1988. Mr. Scimio was a retired US Air Force veteran, serving as a Chief Master Sergeant and Maintenance Superintendent of a great number of various heavy bomber planes during and after World War II. During his career he had traveled extensively and was stationed in many parts of the world. He was extremely proud of his service to his country and also to the many men who served along side of him. Reny also formerly did volunteer work at South Jersey Health System, Elmer, where he assisted the deaf community by using sign language. He had a great compassion for all patients and had taken Sign Language classes, so he could assist the deaf in our area. He was an avid sports fan and liked the Phillies, but being from New York, he also had loyalty to their teams. He will be truly missed by his family and many friends, whom he met in life. Surviving him are his two daughters Rena Pullman and her husband Thomas of Pittsgrove, Twp., and Dorothy Scimio of Hopewell Twp., and his grandson Thomas Joseph Pullman. He was predeceased besides his parents by one sister Esther Montin
