Ralph A Woolman Jr's Obituary
Ralph A. Woolman, Jr. of Long Neck, DE, passed unexpectedly on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at Christiana Hospital in Newark, DE. He was 71.
Born September 1, 1952 in Elmer, NJ, he was the son of the late Ralph A. Woolman, Sr. and Doris Cossaboon Woolman.
“Ralphy” grew up in Greenwich, NJ and was raised by his grandmother Hazel Cossaboon, as his mother died when he was only 8 years old. He attended Greenwich Elementary School, graduating in 1966. He then graduated from Bridgeton High School in 1970, and attended Cumberland County College.
He spent most of his career as an insurance salesman and manager, most notably with SunLife and Monumental Insurance, and resided in several locations within New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware. After retiring from the insurance industry, he relocated to Orlando, Florida and worked at Disneyworld in housekeeping and as a Monorail Pilot. He later returned to the tri-state area and settled in the Pot-Nets community in Long Neck.
In addition to his parents, Ralph is predeceased by his sister, Candice Woolman Newton and brother, Asher Cottrell. He is survived by his nephew J.C. Newton (Patti) of Greenwich, NJ, niece Erin Cottrell (Daniel) of Los Angeles, CA, and grand-nieces Jordan Merlino (Wayne), Becky Messer (Nick), Annie Newton and Nova Toscano.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in Long Neck, DE.
