Rachel M. Green's Obituary
Rachel M. Green 84, of Gouldtown, NJ passed away on Monday evening February 23, 2015 after a short battle with cancer. A lifelong resident of Gouldtown, she was the daughter of the late John Romaine and Ariana (nee Gould) Hughes , and the wife of the late Wayne Green.
Rachel was a devoted wife and mother. She worked at Val Mode Factory (formerly M.C. Schrank) in Bridgeton, then in the Fairfield Township School as a cafeteria aide and later as a teacher’s aide until her retirement in 1992. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, going out to dinner with “The Birthday Club” and reading and sending email to her friends on the computer. She also enjoyed birdwatching.
She is survived by her daughter Wendy Green Holmes and her husband Basil Fearrington of Wilmington, DE, a grandson Wayne G. Holmes, three Godchildren Jeremy Mayhew, Josephine Pope Veney, and Valerie Scott Lollie, and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Wayne Green, a son Victor Wayne Green, grandson Augustus S. Holmes III, her brother John R. Hughes Jr., a sister Eleanor Hughes Thompson, and several nieces and nephews
Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Saturday February 28, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. from the SRAY-WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME, 62 Landis Ave. at Carll’s Corner, Upper Deerfield Twp. Pastor Linda Pierce will officiate. The interment will be in Gouldtown Memorial Park, Fairfield Twp. A viewing will be held from 1:00p.m. – 2:00 p.m. prior to the services.
