Perry Roland Durham Sr.'s Obituary
Perry Roland Durham Sr., aged 69 years of Fairton, went home to be with the Lord on Monday morning April 17, 2017. He had been in declining health for the past few months.
Born in the Back Neck section of Fairton, Perry was the son of the late Presley A. “Jim” and Sarah E. Durham and the husband of Patricia M. (nee Mosley) Durham. He had been an area resident his entire life. Perry had been employed with Durham Farms, a family business in Fairfield Twp., a farmer for all of his working life. He was a graduate of the Bridgeton High School Class of 1966 and had also attended public school in the old Fairton School. Perry loved hunting , especially deer hunting, and was a member of the Back Neck Gun Club where he had formerly served as President. His love of hunting and farming was passed down from his father to him, and from Perry to his son Perry Jr. who hunted and worked besides his dad on the family farm raising grain, sod, nursery stock and working the meadows cutting Salt Hay. He was a loving Husband, Father, and Pop to his grandchildren and great grands. Surviving him besides his wife Patricia of 50 years, are his children: P. Yvonne Malinowski and her husband Richard of Fairton, Perry R. Durham Jr. and his wife Crystal of Fairton, two sisters: Elsie Pritchett and her husband Raymond of Hopewell Twp., and Sarah Mosley and her husband Charles of Felton, DE, Sister in Laws: Cynthia Carney and husband Stephen of Fayetteville, NC and Diane Durham of Fairton, six grandchildren: Lauren Sloss and husband Justin, Brooke Malinowski, Blaire Malinowski, Payton Durham, Cole Durham, and Chase Durham, two great grandchildren: Danielle and Mackenzie, several nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Presley Wayne Durham. Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Saturday April 22, 2017 at 12:30 p.m. from the SRAY-WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME, 62 Landis Ave. at Carll’s Corner, Upper Deerfield Twp. The interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Cedarville. A viewing will be held from 10:00a.m. - 12:30 p.m. prior to the services. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Gift of Life Family House c/o Temple University 3401 N. Broad St. Philadelphia, PA 19140.
