Paul H. Ridgway Sr.'s Obituary
Paul H. Ridgway Sr., aged 83 years of Fairton, passed away suddenly at his residence on Saturday morning December 9, 2017.
Born in Fairton, he was the son of the late Vincent R. and Anna E. (nee Durham) Ridgway, and the husband of Elizabeth M (nee Pierce) Ridgway.
Paul was employed for 40 years with Woodruff Energy in Bridgeton where he worked in the Installation Department as a HVAC installer. His love of tinkering with mechanical things made him a craftsman at his trade. In his younger years, he loved riding his Harley Davidson and was a long time member of the Colonial Riders Motorcycle Club. He also enjoyed camping with his family and friends in his RV, working in his yard and garden, and doing woodworking projects. He enjoyed playing the guitar and formerly played in the Country Ramblers Band, and also enjoyed boxing and loved watching matches on television. He and his wife “Liz” also in their later years enjoyed traveling with the late Kenneth and Natalie Ridgway. Paul was often seen in the Bridgeton area with a trailer hooked to his dump truck, and his Ford Tractor and plow hooked up to tend to friends and neighbors gardens. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather to his family.
He is survived by his children: Paula Amendt of Fairfield Twp., and Paul H. Ridgway Jr. and his wife Crystal also of Fairfield Twp., a sister, Mary E. Ridgway, brother, Donald P. Ridgway and wife Julia all of Fairfield Twp., four grandchildren: Christopher Amendt, Rachel Ridgway, Samantha Ridgway, Melanie Ridgway, great granddaughter, Lay’Lanie Carney, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was predeceased besides his parents, by brothers and sisters: Sara L. Ridgway, Evelyn Ridgway, Mildred K. Pierce, Shirley A. Cuff, Lester R. Ridgway, David M. Ridgway Sr., Robert V. Ridgway, and William T. Ridgway.
Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Friday December 15, 2017 at 11:00a.m. from the SRAY-WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME 62 Landis Ave. at Carll’s Corner, Upper Deerfield Twp.. A visitation will be held from 10:00a.m. till 11:00 a.m. prior to the services. Interment will take place in the Old Stone Church Cemetery, Fairfield Twp.
