Parvin C Lewis' Obituary
Parvin C. Lewis, 91, of Hopewell Township passed in his family home Thursday, November 27, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. Parvin was born December 2, 1933 to the late Nellie and Parvin C. Lewis Sr in Bridgeton, NJ and remained a local resident for the entirety of his life. He married the love of his life Maxine (Chann) May 7, 1955 and they remained faithfully married for over 70 years.
Parvin worked for many years as a subway inspector for the New Jersey Bell Telephone Company before they were acquired by Verizon. He was fortunate to retire at age 55 and was able to spend time doing the things he loved most such as traveling and vacationing with his wife. Since being a young boy, Parvin always loved animals (particularly dogs and horses) and time spent in nature. He donated his time to both The Boy Scouts Of America as a troop leader, and he and his wife were co-leaders of the Saddle Squeaks 4-H Club for 10 years. He also spent many years on the Cumberland County Fair Association Board including two as a Board President. He boarded horses for many years and even owned a collection of antique carriages and horse buggies that he enjoyed riding. Parvin was known by all lucky enough to encounter him as a compassionate man who did not hesitate to help others, and a family man whose time was best spent with those whom he held most dear.
Parvin's legacy and memories are left to be cherished by his wife Maxine Lewis, son Terry Lewis (Dot) of Colt's Neck, NJ, daughter Jill Nigro (Ralph) of Kennet Square, PA, numerous wonderful grandchildren, great grandchildren, a great- great grandchild, and nephew Charles Goss Jr of Florida amongst a host of additional family and friends.
Parvin was predeceased by his parents Nellie and Parvin C. Lewis Sr. and two sisters Dora and Marion.
A celebration of life for Parvin C. Lewis will be held privately at a later date.
