Opal M. Smith's Obituary
Opal M. Smith, 84, of Williamstown NJ passed away suddenly and unexpected on Monday, September 20, 2021 in Jefferson Hospital, Washington Twp., two days before her 85th birthday.
Born in West Virginia on September 22, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Kyle and Lena (Archer) Delp, and the wife of the late H.B. “Pete” Smith who passed in 2004. She and her late husband had been area residents for many years. Opal and Pete were the owners of the former Delp’s Meat Market which was located on the grounds where South Woods Prison is now located. They operated the market for many years. They both also worked at Owens Illinois Glass Factory. Being the entrepreneurs, in 1983 they founded SWK, an adhesive glue factory in Upper Deerfield Twp. which they ran together until his death. Opal enjoyed gardening after her retirement and she loved animals. She also enjoyed trips to the Casino’s. She leaves her sister and brother, Judy Gillespie of Virginia and Jack Delp of West Virginia, her sister in law, Kathy Delp of Bridgeton, two nieces, Deborah Delp of Bridgeton and Kimberly Jordan of Cedarville, and two great nephews, Zachary Jordan and Aaron Delp. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings JD Delp, twin sisters Norma Dishner and Nelma Kidblinger, and Alvin Delp. At Opal’s request, there will be no funeral services. Cremation and Inurnment will take place privately at Camden County Crematory, Waterford Twp
