Oliver Joe Walker's Obituary
Oliver Joe Walker 66, of Bridgeton died suddenly and unexpected on Friday morning April 10, 2009 in South Jersey Regional Medical Center, Vineland, where he had been a patient for one day. Mr. Walker was a resident for the past three years at South Jersey Extended Care.
Born in Charleston, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Joe and Emily nee Brown Walker, and the husband of Henrietta nee Reid Walker. Oliver graduated from Culleton High School in South Carolina in 1961 and was formerly employed as a truck driver with Wheaton Industries Glass Company, Millville, retiring in 1995 due to his health. He was an avid Eagles football fan and he loved traveling to the Atlantic City Casinos. He is survived besides his wife Henrietta of 44years, by his daughter Donna Walker of West Deptford, one son Leon Givens, three brothers Rodger Deveux, Alvin Walker, and Allen Walker, four sisters Margaret Purvis, Cheryl Hartley, Dee Dee Brown, and Shelly Brown, and two cousins by whom he was raised Bessie Nixon and Ruthy Giles. Besides his parents he was predeceased by one brother John Paul "Sonny Boy" Walker.
