Oleta Ruth Shuman's Obituary
Oleta Ruth Shuman 83, of Upper Deerfield Twp. went home to be with her Lord and Savior, early Monday morning April 25, 2011 in South Jersey Healthcare Inpatient Hospice, Bridgeton where she had been a patient for just about a month.
Born in Cuzzard, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Ira G. and Elsie E. nee Livingood Bishoff, and the wife of the late Bobby Shuman. Oleta had lived in the Upper Deerfield area with her daughter Roberta and son in law Edgar Sonny for the past six years and prior to, she lived in Claxton Georgia where she had worked in the Winn Dixie Grocery Store, as a cook. She loved cooking and especially enjoyed canning fresh vegetables and meats. She enjoyed watching sports, doing sewing projects, and spending time with family. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Newfield. She will be missed by her family, but they find great comfort in knowing she is now up close and personal in her relationship with the Lord. Surviving her is her daughter Roberta Loatman and her husband Edgar "Sonny" of Upper Deerfield Twp., her son Richard Allen Christopher and his wife Beth of Arlington, Texas, two grandchildren Tina Martin, and Toni Castillo, four step grandchildren Martin Loatman, Lori Loatman, Zach Williams, Christel Hull, three great grandchildren Christopher Castillo, Jayna Castillo, Alexis Martin, and two step great grandchildren Alissa Loatman, and Zach Castillo. Besides her husband and parents she was predeceased by four brothers Alva Bishoff, Wade Bishoff, Damon Bishoff, and Hoye Bishoff.
