Norma G. Parker's Obituary
Norma G. (nee Wilson) Parker, 88, of Pleasantville went home to be with the Lord on Saturday May 10, 2014. She departed peacefully at home with her family and friends by her side.
Born in Bridgeton, NJ to Garfield L. and Lillie M. (Hughes) Wilson, she was a lifelong resident of the area and was educated in the local schools. She was predeceased by her parents and her husband, Maurice; sisters, Frances Custis, Florence Jones and Mildred Wilson; and brothers, Everett, Harold, Leroy, Leslie, and Leo. She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church receiving the word from Reverend Dr. Blessings Magomero. Norma’s career spanned 21 years as a certified nurse aide at Meadowview Nursing Home in Northfield, where she provided loving care and support to the residents. Upon retiring in 1988, she received special recognition from the Atlantic County Department of Health and Institutions and personal appreciation from the County Executive for her years of devotion and diligence. Norma’s joy in life was helping her family, in her later years, especially her beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter Rosalyn Parker Jennings (John); sons, H. Phillip Parker (Marilyn), Gregory A. Enlow (Theresa); grandchildren, Derek Jennings (Patricia), Deirdre Jennings-Holton, Akweli Parker, Tanisha and Rashida Enlow; great grandchildren, Camilah, Cameron, Corey, Jalyn, Jaeda and Connie Jennings, Adair and Amelia Holton; special nieces, Katherine Reed, Yvonne Custis, Judith Gunter, Elisabeth Wilson and many other loving nieces and nephews and friends. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday May 21, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. from the Sray-Webster Funeral Home 62 Landis Ave. Upper Deerfield Twp. The interment will be in Fordville Memorial Park, Fairfield Twp. Friends may call on Wednesday from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. prior to the services at the funeral home.
