TIME TO SOCIALIZE
Yvonne was known for her warm smile, her humbleness, her kind and caring heart and especially her strong love of family. She was always calling and checking up on her family and her close friends and she never forgot anybody's birthday. Her memory was impeccable. After her sister passed, she developed an even stronger bond with her brother, Sandy. She had a special kind of love for her daughter, Tammy, her son-in-love, Darrin (Dill) and her grandchildren. She was that social butterfly that always had a kind word and an inspiring conversation for any one she met. She also took in family and friends when they were down and out and needed a place to stay. She seemed to know everybody, and everybody seemed to know, respect and love her in return. Yvonne was up on all the soul music in her younger years, and she won a lot of radio prizes, especially from calling into WBLS for guessing the names of songs. She also had a beautiful singing voice.
Yvonne was known to be the Bingo Queen; you could usually find her on Ocean Avenue at the Bingo Hall with about 20 or more boards. She would leave the boards, run to the rest room, and come back and play those boards without missing a beat while she also helped other people to her left, her right and whoever was in front of her. She would make sure that you did not miss a number. Sometimes, she would be waiting for a win without placing a chip on her bingo cards. She also knew and socialized with almost every person while in attendance.
TIME TO MOVE ON
When Yvonne's health began to fail her, her daughter, Tammy and her son-in-love, Darrin (Dill) took her to live with them and their children in Millville, NJ. Yvonne enjoyed spending time with them, and she also adored her grandchildren and her great--grandchildren very much. She was so very proud of all of their accomplishments. She also had a loving relationship with Darrin's siblings and his other family members. After her physical health became debilitating, she relocated to Genesis Healthcare down the street from their home. While there, Tammy and the family visited Yvonne daily and the family appreciated the care that she was given while there. Prior to her passing, she was transferred to Cedar Groove Respiratory and Nursing Care Center in Williamstown, NJ, where she also received daily visits from her daughter and family.
