Michael C. Pierce Jr.'s Obituary
Michael C. Pierce Jr. of Fairton, passed away Tuesday afternoon May 19, 2020 in Inspira Medical Center, Vineland after an extended illness. He was 36 years old. Born in Bridgeton, he was the son of Michael C. Sr. and Carla Rivera Pierce. Due to his father’s military career, he lived in Dover, DE, Anchorage, Alaska, Whiteman AFB, Missouri, and Spangdahlem AB, Germany.
After high school graduation, Michael attended The Cordon Bleu Culinary School, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. After graduation, he worked in numerous restaurants to include in Walt Disney Resort in Orlando, Florida. He moved on and trained as a DirecTV installation specialist until an injury caused him to again retrain for a new career. He trained as a coating inspector and worked for several pipeline companies throughout the United States. But cooking was always his passion.
Michael enjoyed cooking for everyone. He was fluent in the art of sushi making and cooking oriental cuisine. He enjoyed having people step outside their norm of eating and having them try new items, such as sushi.
He is survived by his father Mike Sr. and his wife Tammy (nee Peterson), his mother Carla (nee Rivera) and boyfriend Victor Oliveras, sister Jennifer Vega and husband Jose, Grandmother Roz Pierce, Grandfather Samuel Rivera and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Michael was predeceased by his paternal grandfather Clifford C. Pierce Jr. and maternal grandmother Bertha Rivera.
