Michael J. Chandler's Obituary
Michael J. Chandler, aged 45 years of Fairfield Twp., passed away Friday afternoon unexpectedly in Inspira Medical Center, Vineland after being taken ill while fishing.
Born in Bridgeton, he was the son of Pearl L. (nee Kent) Wiley, and the late James B. Chandler Jr.., and the step son of Mark Wiley. He had been an area resident all of his life. Michael or “Bass” as he was known to his friends, and “Romie” to his niece Janay, was a graduate of Bridgeton High School Class of 1988. He had formerly worked as a supervisor at WalMart in Vineland. Michael was an avid fisherman and was often seen at the local ponds and creeks in the area. He had a deep love for his family and enjoyed looking after his nieces and nephews. He had a special daughter, Dejah Truett, whom he raised. He will be truly missed by all. Surviving him are his mother and stepfather, Pearl L. and Mark Wiley of Fairfield Twp.; his two brothers, James D. Chandler III., of North Carolina, and Dareck L. Chandler of Bridgeton; his special daughter, Dejah Truett and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended members of the family. Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Friday May 1, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. from the Bridgeton Assembly of God Church, 424 Indian Ave. Bridgeton. A viewing will be held from 10:00 to 12:00 p.m. prior to the services at the church. The interment will be in Cedar Hill Memorial Park, Hopewell Twp.
