Melvin E. Williams' Obituary
Melvin E. Williams of Carmel, passed away unexpectedly Saturday evening December 25, 2021 in Inspira Medical Center, Vineland. He was 73 years old. Born and raised in Harlem, New York, he was the son of the late Ernest and Gladys Jeffries Williams, and the husband of Frances Nellena (Pierce) Sanders Williams. He has been an area resident since 1991.
Melvin had always worked as a bus driver starting out with New York Transit, then moving to New Jersey and working for Garden State Transit, Sheppard Bus Service, and his last employer Cumberland County driving the To Work Bus. He was a member of the Doric Lodge #25 of Mays Landing and also served as Past Worshipful Master of Ionic Lodge #40 of the Free and Accepted Masons. He loved decorating his yard with solar lights and collecting antique model cars. He is survived by his wife Frances, his children, Gasper Sanders and Tamarah of Pleasantville, Tammy Sanders of Mays Landing, and Dawn Tolliver of Tennessee, his brother in law, John Lovell and nephew, Scott Lovell and KI Ki, three grandchildren, Teirra Tolliver, Terrance Tolliver, and Bryan Sanders, and many other extended relatives and friends. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Joan “Bunny” Lovell. Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing on Friday morning from 9:00am till 11:00am at the SRAY-WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME 62 Landis Ave. at Carll’s Corner, Upper Deerfield Twp. The funeral service will take place privately with family.
