McClaren Streets' Obituary
McClaren ?Sonny? Streets, 78 of Fairfield Twsp. died Tuesday afternoon July 24, 2007 in the Regional Medical Center, Vineland. He had been in failing health for the past year.
Born in Gouldtown, he was the son of the late Arnold Sinclair and Emily nee Gould Streets, and had been a resident of the Fairfield Twsp. area his entire life.
Sonny was the owner operator of M. Streets Septic Service and had operated the business for the past 54 years, until his health failed. The business was started by his grandfather, and Sonny?s sons McClaren and William assisted their father in the operation, making it a fourth generation business. He also was formerly employed with Martin Dye Corporation, Cumberland County Road Dept., and the West Company in Millville. He enjoyed Motorcycle riding, horseback riding, camping, and most recently watching the fish in his pond. He was a member of the Nanticoke Lenni Lenape Indians of Bridgeton, and was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the United States Army, where he was decorated with the Korean Service Medal, two Bronze Service Stars, and the United Nations Service Medal.
Surviving him are his daughter Letisha E. ?Tish? Streets Mosley, of Millville, two sons McClaren A. ?Buddy? Streets of Bridgeton, and William A. Streets of Millville. Four grandchildren, Brandon Arnold Streets, Heather Nicole Streets, Thomas Streets, and Stephanie Streets.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by three sisters Doris Santos, Matilda Money Streets, and Betty Cuff.
Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Monday July 30, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. from the SRAY-WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME, 62 Landis Ave. at Carll?s Corner, Upper Deerfield Twsp. The Rev. Nathaniel Dunn will officiate. The entombment will take place in Greenwood Memorial Park Mausoleum, Millville, NJ.
Friends may call on Sunday evening July 29, 2007 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home and again Monday afternoon one hour prior to the services.
