Matilda Tilly Green's Obituary
Matilda “Tilly” Green of Glassboro and formerly of Bridgeton, passed away Sunday evening December 20, 2020 in Traditions of Cross Keys Assisted Living Facility. She was 86 years old. Born in Bridgeton, she was the daughter of the late Nelson and Elmira Dean Gould, and the wife of the late James E. Green Sr., who passed in 2010. She had been an area resident all of her life.
Tilly was employed for most of her working career as a counselor for both for the Job Training Partnership Act (JTPA) and the CETA programs. She also worked as a receptionist with Teleprompter Cable Company. She enjoyed selling Fuller Brush products, volunteering for the Red Cross, and enjoyed reading and making crafts. She was a long time member of St. John United Methodist Church Fordville. Tilly was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She is survived by her son James E. Green Jr. and his wife Karra, her grandsons, James E. Green III, and Issac Green, and extended family and friends. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a brother Nelson Gould, and her half brother Franklin R. Dean. Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Wednesday December 30, 2020 at 11:00am from the SRAY-WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME, 62 Landis Ave. at Carll’s Corner, Upper Deerfield Twp. A viewing will be held from 10:00am till service time at the funeral home. Interment will be in Gouldtown Memorial Park, Fairfield Twp
