Mary Jane Pierce's Obituary
Mary Jane Pierce, 83, of Bridgeton transitioned to glory Monday evening, November 17, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. She was born August 23, 1942 to the late Ruth (Gould) and William Durham and remained a greater Bridgeton, NJ area resident throughout the entirety of her life.
Mary Jane could frequently be spotted walking downtown Bridgeton and visiting the various boutiques and thrift stores. She enjoyed country music, toy babydolls, reading, and hot coffee fresh off the stove. She was in her element as a homesteader who enjoyed nurturing friends and family alike, cats, her house plants, cleaning her house, and hosting company. She used this passion in career as well working for many years in housekeeping at the South Jersey Extended Care nursing home located on Manheim Ave. She loved spending time with her daughters, grandchildren, many siblings alike, along with her predeceased partner Leroy Green Jr.
She leaves her memories to be cherished by daughters Ruth Oleta Pierce & Rosemary Webster, grandchildren Marshall Dylan Webster, Reginald Kermit Webster, John Russell Hess Jr. of the US Coast Guard, & Chloe Jane Hess, of the US Air Force, siblings Dorothy Pierce, Ella Mae Durham, Henrietta Ames, Cordelia Ashton, Ruth Ann Pierce, and Charles Durham amongst a host of many additional cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Mary Jane was predeceased by her parents Ruth and William Durham, siblings Rebecca Pierce, William Durham, Herbert Durham, Elwood Durham, & Hughee Durham, son in law George A Webster Jr, and her longtime partner Leroy Green Jr.
Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Saturday November 22, 2025 beginning with a visitation to be held from 11AM-12PM at the Sray- Webster Funeral Home located on 62 Landis Ave, Bridgeton, NJ 08302. Formal services will commence following at noon.
