Martha Alexander's Obituary
Martha Alexander, 88, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, July 11, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on August 23, 1937, in Lockport, NY, she was the daughter of the late Schuyler and Eleanor (Schaffer) Davis. Martha was a proud, lifelong resident of the Lockport area until moving to Bridgeton nearly a decade ago to be closer to her daughter.
For many years, Martha worked on the production assembly line at General Motors' Lockport Factory Headquarters, where she dedicated her skills to assembling vehicle radiators. Outside of work, she loved eating out and socializing over a good meal with family and friends. She enjoyed attending church services at the Cedarville Baptist Church with her daughter and son-in-law, and she always cherished the time spent at her campsite in Old Forge, NY. In her later years, Martha became an avid quilter, finding great joy and camaraderie among her fellow crafters in the Downing Street Quilters guild at the Hopewell Senior Center.
She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Uhland (Leo); her son, Shane Stickney; 13 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and a large circle of extended family and friends.
Martha was predeceased by her parents, Eleanor and Schuyler Davis; her son, Duane Sposito; her daughter, Christina Reed; and her brother, Gary Davis.
A memorial service in her honor will be planned at a later date at the Cedarville Baptist Church, located at 328 Main St, Cedarville, NJ 08311.
