Marie A. Henry's Obituary
The sunrise of Marie A. nee Pierce Henry 64, took place in Bridgeton, NJ on July 5, 1947, and set on May 19, 2012 at her home. She had been in failing health for the past 6 months.
Marie was the daughter of the late Alvin Russell Sr. and Rebecca nee Johnson Pierce. She was known simply as "Sissy" to everyone. Marie resided in Fairfield Twp. for most of her adult life. She was formerly employed at Major Clothing, Rennoc's, Thiebers, DeRossi & Son, Santa's Best and currently employed at the South Jersey Regional Medical Center, Vineland, until her health began to fail. She was a member of the Nanticoke Lenni Lenape Indian Tribe of Bridgeton, and she enjoyed sewing, especially making homemade dolls, stuffed rabbits, and cry babies. She enjoyed life and spending time with her family and friends. From the time of her sickness, Sissy was taken care of by her sisters Alice "Ray" Harmon, who lived with her and Ruthie Conaway. She was blessed with her two children, who survive her, Debra Henry Kirkland and her husband Willie, and her son Darlington "Sugie" Henry Jr. and his wife Shannan, both of Bridgeton, her three sisters, Artalissa "Dolly" Pierce and fiancé Billy of Bridgeton, Ruthie Conaway and her husband Winfield of Salem, and Alice "Ray" Harmon and her husband Roger of Alloway, her three brothers Carl Pierce and his wife Natalie of Millville, Bruce Pierce of Fairfield Twp., and Alvin Russell Piece Jr. and wife Diane of Fairfield Twp., her seven grandchildren Deshauna Burrell, James Henry, both of Millville, and Destiny Henry of Vineland, William Henry, Leroy Henry, Leah Henry and Carolece Henry all of Bridgeton, seven great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and various relatives. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her fiancé Leroy "Butch" Harmon.
