Lucy B. Shaffer's Obituary
Lucy B. Shaffer, 91 of Vineland, passed away early Friday morning August 9, 2013 after an extended illness, in the New Jersey Veterans Memorial Home.
Born in Briston, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Sallie (nee Headly) Fenton, and the wife of the late James W. Shaffer, who passed away in 2008.
Lucy was formerly employed with the former Val Mode Inc. in the cutting room for 15 years until her retirement in 1995. She also was formerly employed with F.W. Woolworth in Bridgeton and was involved with volunteer work for the Alzheimer’s Association. She was a former member of the Calvary Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Bridgeton and had also attended the former Covenant Presbyterian Church in Vineland. She and her late husband were married on Thanksgiving, and they always celebrated their anniversary on that day, regardless of the calendar day. She loved her family and enjoyed life.
She is survived by her daughter Nevada Toddish of Pittsgrove Twp.; her three grandchildren, John Shaffer, Kimberly Ann Enterlante, and David Toddish; her five great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren; one brother in law and three sister in laws.
Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Georgianna Fenton.
