Lovie Mae "Lou" Mourning's Obituary
Lovie Mae “Lou” Mourning, aged 81 years of Bridgeton, passed away at her residence on Friday afternoon, under the care of Hospice.
Born in Princeton, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late George and Debbie (nee Zorns) Mathena, and the wife of the late Robert E. Mourning Sr. who passed away in 1970. She and her late husband had been Bridgeton residents for many years. “Lou” as she was known had worked for several years in many sewing factories and was lastly employed with Major Clothing Co. in Bridgeton until its closing. She loved cooking and was well known for her southern style foods. It was always a huge feast at holidays and special events with her family and friends. She loved listening to country music, but especially enjoyed her family and spending time with friends. She is survived by three sons: Daniel K. Mourning Sr. and his wife Vicki of Bridgeton, Robert E. Mourning Jr. of Mullica Hill, Jeffery L. Mourning of San Diego, CA, and her daughter, Sharon K. Phillips of West Virginia, fifteen grandchildren, many great grandchildren, and good friend Cheryl Bennet. She was predeceased by 11 siblings. Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Friday August 25, 2017 at 11:00a.m. from the SRAY-WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME, 62 Landis Ave. at Carll’s Corner, Upper Deerfield Twp. Pastor Glen Bradbury of the Faith Baptist Church, Pittsgrove Twp. will officiate. Friends may call on Friday morning from 9:30 till 11:00 a.m. prior to the services. The interment will take place privately in Fernwood Memorial Park, Hopewell Twp.
