Laura L Sooy's Obituary
Laura L. Sooy of Hopewell Twp died early Wednesday morning January 17, 2024 under the care of Hospice in Preferred Care at Cumberland Manor. She was 82 years old. Born January 12, 1942 in Bridgeton, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Leona (Garrison) Connelly and the wife of the late Albert Sooy who passed in 2015.
Laura grew up in the Bridgeton area and for many years until her retirement was employed for the city as a Crossing Guard and a Meter Maid. She and her late husband Albert had lived for many years on York Street. She enjoyed arts and crafts, puzzles, and at one time ceramics. Laura was the happiest during times spent with her children and especially her grandchildren.
Laura is survived by her children, Michael Sooy and his wife April of Upper Deerfield Twp. and daughter Cyndi Williams of Bridgeton, one brother Keith Connelly of Upper Deerfield Twp., five grandchildren Michael Sooy (Kelly), Allyson Sooy (Kyle), Conner Sooy, Brandon Walker (Nichole) Jordan Gonzales (Samantha) one great grandchild Aubriella Skye Walker, and several neices, nephews and extended relatives.
Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Tuesday January 23, 2024 12:30 pm at the SRAY-WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME, 62 Landis Ave. at Carll's Corner, Upper Deerfield. A visitation will be held from 11:00 till 12:30 pm prior to servies. The burial will take place in the family plot at Overlook Cemetery, Bridgeton.
