Larry DeMasse Jr.'s Obituary
Larry DeMasse Jr., 76, of Upper Deerfield Twp. passed away at home and under the care of Hospice with his family by his side. He had been in failing health for the past few months. Born in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, September 17, 1947, he was the son of the late Larry Sr. and Margaret Yolich DeMasse and the husband of Drema (Newman) DeMasse.
Larry moved to the area when he was 9 years old and has been an area resident all of his life. He worked as a Gold Seal Engineer for Atlantic City Electric at the Deepwater Generating Plant for over 30 years until his retirement in 2003. An avid hunter, he traveled the entire United States and Canada with his son Larry III and his brother Bob hunting deer, elk, bear, alligators, mule deer, and many other wildlife during many successful hunts. He was a lifetime member of the NRA and a Donald Trump supporter.
Larry was a genius working with his hands and designed his home that he built himself. He loved tinkering with classic cars and had a passion for 57 Chevrolet Bel Airs. He was quite the artist with several beautiful paintings that are displayed in his home. He was very proud of the fact that he served his country in the United States Air Force from 1966 -1969 with the last three years served in Viet Nam. He loved watching old westerns, and would often tell you how many villains the good guy had shot in the series. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend, who was loved and will be sadly missed.
He is survived by his wife Drema, his chilldren, Larry DeMasse III and his wife Gina, his daughter, Tammy M. DeMasse all of Upper Deerfield Twp., his beloved brother, Robert DeMasse Sr. and his wife Rita of Stow Creek Twp., and sister, Judy Danna of Rosenhayn, his six grandchildren, hunter Russo, Gage Russo, Mya DeMasse, Natalya DeMasse, Dakota DeMasse, and Vivien DeMasse, and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend Larry's Memorial Service on Monday evening October 30, at 7:00pm from the SRAY-WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME, A visitation will be held from 5:00 till 7:00 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made in memory to St. Jude Children Research Hospital 501 St, Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105 or to The Wounded Warrior Project PO Box 758516 Topeka, Kansas 66675.
