June P Ware's Obituary
June P. Ware, 97, passed away early Thursday morning April 22, 2021 in Inspira Medical Center, Vineland where she had been a patient for the past week. Born in Corry, Pennsylvania on August 3, 1923, she was adopted and raised by the late Leon and Pearle Scythes Perry, and was the wife of the late Budd N. Ware.
June had been an area resident almost all of her life, growing up and attending school in Hopewell Township and graduating from Bridgeton High School. After high school she worked for a brief time at the former MC Schrank sewing factory and also for Cumberland National Bank in Bridgeton. She gained employment with the US Postal Service where she served for many years until her retirement as Post Master of Deerfield Street Post Office in Deerfield. She was very active in her church, Deerfield Presbyterian Church, where she served on many committees and taught Sunday School. June was the oldest living member of the church. When her children were young, she was a chauffeur to them and their friends driving them anywhere and everywhere. She was also active in all their school activities and the local PTA. June enjoyed playing Bridge and she and her late husband Budd, played in a couples club. She was known as MeMom, not only to her own family, but also to a lot of others who knew her well. She always enjoyed attending her grand and great grandchildren’s sporting events and was a big Phillies fan. June and her late husband also enjoyed camping trips in Lancaster. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend , who will be greatly missed.
Surviving her are her daughters Cheryl W. Murphine and her husband Frank III of Millville, Sandra W. Turner and her husband Tom Jr. of Upper Deerfield Twp., and Janet Smith and her husband Steve also of Upper Deerfield Twp., her loving grandchildren Leah Taylor and her husband George, Hal Bickings III and his wife Emily, Jodi Pastirko and her husband Michael, Jason Turner and his wife Charissa, Jared Smith, Sarah Smith, her eight great grandchildren Jonathon Taylor and wife Kaitlyn, Dillon Taylor, Ryan Taylor, Courtney Tucker and her husband Stephen, Alexis Pastirko, Ethan Turner, Evan Turner, Jaydan Turner, Abbey Bickings and Molly Bickings, her two great great grandchildren Colson Taylor and Reece Tucker, and a host of nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband Budd, June was predeceased by her adopted brother Ray Leon “Jack” Perry and his wife Helen Perry.
Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Friday morning April 30, 2021 at 11:00am from Deerfield Presbyterian Church 530 Old Deerfield Pike Bridgeton, where June’s pastor the Rev. Dr. Kenneth Larter will officiate. A visitation will be held on Thursday evening April 29, from 5 – 7:00pm at the church. Interment will take place in Deerfield Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
