Joseph M. Bailey's Obituary
Joseph M. Bailey Sr. 68, of Gouldtown died Wednesday morning November 21, 2007 in South Jersey Regional Medical Center, Vineland. His death was sudden and unexpected.
Born in Bridgeton the son of the late Boyd and Etta nee Forman Bailey-Johnson, Joe was the husband of Elaine nee Green Bailey. He had been a resident of the Gouldtown area for most of his life. Joe was retired from the former Leon Stotters Co. and Owens and Minor Company formerly of Bridgeton and Upper Deerfield Twp. after thirty six years as a truck driver. He was recently honored after serving twenty two years of service with the Gouldtown Fire Co. No2. He also served with the Cumberland County Fire Police. In his younger years he enjoyed playing softball, bowling, and golf. Surviving him besides his wife Elaine, are two sons Joseph M. Bailey Jr. of Bridgeton and Anthony D. Bailey and his wife Jeannine of Bridgeton, one daughter Patti L. Stith and her husband Jason of Bridgeton, four brothers Thomas Bailey of Vineland, Robert Bailey, and Ralph Bailey both of Bridgeton, and David Bailey of Fairton, two sisters Ella Mae Elliot of Millville, Elizabeth Gore of Florida, thirteen grandchildren, two great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased besides his parents by one daughter Jawanda M. Bailey and two brothers Charles Bailey and William Bailey.
