John Luther "Hoss" Reed's Obituary
John Luther Reed, 74, of Fairfield Township passed away Wednesday July 16, 2025 at his home. Although he had been in declining health, his death was unexpected.
Born in Bridgeton December 20, 1950 he was the son of the late Issac Edward Reed Sr. and Lillian (Robinson) Reed. Hoss, as he was affectionately known, had been a Fairfield Township resident all of his life.
Hoss worked at Mannington Mills as a transportation operator for many years until his retirement. He was a big NASCAR fan and he enjoyed fishing and some hunting as well in his younger years. He loved gardening and could often be found out in the red barn behind the house enjoying a cold beer with friends. He was active years ago with the South Jersey Pony Trotters Association enjoying pony racing throughout New Jersey, Delaware, and Maryland.
His memory is left to be cherished by his daughter Janet Medina File (Jerome), two sisters Donna Reed-Morris and her husband Larry of Fairton, Ellen Grigsby of Dover Delaware, his brother Issac Edward Reed also of Fairton, a sister in law Patricia Reed of Fairfield Twp, his grandchildren Eric Kwasnicki Jr., Matthew Kwasnicki, and Kimberlynn Kwasnicki, and a special niece June Reed Solomon amongst a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and additional extended family and friends.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Robert L. "Bobby" Reed., sister in law Kathryn Reed, and his brother in law Leonard Grigsby.
