Joanna Battle Price's Obituary
Joanna Battle Price, aged 87 years of Bridgeton, passed away on Tuesday afternoon January 26, 2016 at home.
Born in Bridgeton, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Mary (nee Noble) Battle, and the wife of the late Floyd M. Price. She had been an area resident all of her life.
Joanna was formerly employed as a cosmetologist and also held a Masters Degree in Nursing which she earned from Temple University. She was a long time member of Union Baptist Temple Church where she was a member of the Usher Board and enjoyed singing in three choirs. Joanna was a member of the Alice S. Felts Federation, and also formerly taught Sunday School. She was also a long time member of the Ionic Chapter of the Eastern Stars. She loved her family, her church, and her many friends.
She is survived by a son, Floyd M. Price, Jr. of Laurel Maryland, three sisters; Emma Pearl Battle of Cheltenham, PA, Henrietta Cosby of Millville, and Margaret Winchester of Bridgeton, her ten grandchildren and twenty three great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and extended family.
She was predeceased besides her husband Floyd, by her son Fred Mervin Price and daughter Sandra Michelle Price, sisters and brothers, Mary B. Smith, Rosa Lee Roane, Sylvia Wright, John Frank Battle, Dr. William Henry Battle, Mark G. Battle and Lewis Battle.
Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Saturday February 6, 2016 at 1:000p.m. from the Union Baptist Temple Church, 30 Martin Luther King Jr. Way, Bridgeton. The interment will be in Gouldtown Memorial Park, Fairfield Twp. A viewing will be held from 11:00 to 1:00p.m. with Eastern Star services starting at 12:00p.m. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the SRAY-WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME, Upper Deerfield Twp.
