Jimmilyn Matthews' Obituary
Jimmilyn Matthews of Pedricktown, NJ passed away on Sunday morning June 2, 2019 in Cooper University Medical Center, Camden. She had fought a courageous battle with cancer for the past year. Born in Mannington Twp., she was raised by George and Mariam Westfield, and was the daughter of Cheryl Bennett, and the wife of Charles Matthews.
Jimmilyn was a resident all of her life living in the Salem County area. She had worked until her health failed her for WalMart Jet.com as a line operator in the warehouse. She loved camping, boating, and enjoyed cooking, sometimes very well done food. However, her passion for the water seemed to make her the happiest, whether it be sitting on the beach, or boating on local waterways. She was full of life, and loved her family.
Jimmilyn is survived by her mother Cheryl Bennett and stepfather Vernon Bennett of Bridgeton, her husband Charles, her son Skylar Matthews of Pedricktown, a brother Vernon "Ricky" Bennett of Upper Deerfield Twp., two sisters, Kimberly Brown of Swedesboro, and Robin Rhea of Elsinboro, and several cousins.
A Celebration of Life memorial will be held on Sunday June 9, 2019 from 2:00-6:00p.m. at the Salem Sportsmans Club, 273 US Rt. 40 Carney's Point, NJ.
