Jeffery Leroy Dennis' Obituary
Jeffery Leroy Dennis of Bridgeton passed away suddenly Sunday in Inspira Medical Center while visiting his son. He was 80 years old. Born in Greenwich NJ April 28, 1942, he was the son of the late Estes Broughton and Mae Dennis, and the husband of 42 years to Katherine Harris Dennis.
Leroy as he was known worked for 36 years until his retirement at Wheaton Industries. After his retirement, he spent a majority of his time doing what he loved the most, Autobody Repair and Painting. He had a strong passion for restoring cars to their natural finish. Leroy was a member of the Word of Grace Church in Bridgeton where he enjoyed doing custodial work for the church. He enjoyed watching Cowboy shows especially Walker Texas Ranger. He was a devoted husband, father; a faithful family man.
He is survived by his wife Katherine, children, Regina Harris Sease and Tom, Barry A Harris, Leroy Harris and Christina, Jennifer C Dennis, seven grandchildren, Christopher Deon Harris, Davin McClendon, Dyshea J Harris-Hall, Barry A Harris Jr, Leroy Harris Jr “LJ”, Isaiah J Dennis, and Sa’Layah Oliver, three brothers, Morris “Buddy” Broughton and Bertha, Anthony Tyrone Broughton and Gwendolyn, Ester Broughton Jr and Dawn, three sisters, Iris Broughton, Deborah “Debbie” Broughton Forman, Sharlene Johnson and Sidney, and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a brother Ernest Leon Broughton and his mother in law Maggie E Harris.
Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at 11:00 am from the SRAY-WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME. A viewing will be held on Saturday morning from 9:00 till 11:00 am at the funeral home. The interment will be in Fordville Memorial Park Fairfield Twp.
