Jean E. Welch's Obituary
Jean E. Welch aged 79 years of Bridgeton, passed away suddenly Tuesday evening in The Millville Center, Genesis, where she had been a resident for the past two weeks. Although she had been in declining health, her death was unexpected.
Born in Upper Deerfield Twp., she was the daughter of the late Albert and Hazel E. (nee Riley) Sooy.
Jean worked for many years at the former Coach Room Restaurant until her retirement 18 years ago. She had been a Bridgeton resident all of her life. She enjoyed watching television, especially QVC, and any cooking show. In her younger years, she enjoyed going out and dancing. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
Jean is survived by her daughters: Joan Michelle Williams and her husband Donald of Bridgeton, and Tracey L. Sabella and her husband Gene also of Bridgeton, a brother, Larry Sooy and his wife Donna of Bridgeton, sisters: Delores Garrett and husband Charles of Texas, Patty Giacalone and her husband Louis of Millville, Debbie Durham and her husband Allen of Bridgeton, five grandchildren: Joseph Connelly and wife Kaira, Jenifer Sabella, Caitlynn Connelly, Juliana Connelly, Autumn Williams, one great grandchild, Madison Morgan, sister in law, Laura Lee Sooy, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her twin sister, Joan Garrett, a brother, Albert Sooy, and her granddaughter, Amber Connelly.
Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Friday November 10, 2017 at 12:00p.m. from the SRAY-WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME, 62 Landis Ave. at Carll’s Corner, Upper Deerfield Twp. A visitation will be held from 11:00a.m. till 12:00p.m. prior to the services. The interment will take place in Overlook Cemetery.
