Jean DiLeonardo's Obituary
Jean DiLeonardo, 84, of Bridgeton, passed away on Wednesday morning, July 29, 2026, at Inspira Medical Center in Vineland following a courageous battle with declining health.
Born in Rosenhayn on May 23, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Corrado and Anna (Spatola) Speranza and the beloved wife of Angelo M. DiLeonardo Jr.
Jean proudly served in the U.S. Air Force for two years before receiving a hardship discharge to care for her parents. Following her military service, she managed Dr. Magolda’s office in Vineland for many years. She later followed her passion into cosmetology, working as a hairstylist and co-owning Hair Benders salon in Upper Deerfield alongside her husband. A woman of many talents, Jean also spent several years as a substitute teacher before embarking on a career in real estate. Throughout her life, she remained a faithful parishioner of Saint Mary’s Church within the Parish of the Holy Cross.
An avid lover of music and dancing, Jean took great pleasure in cooking family-style meals, particularly preparing crabs and pasta for her loved ones. She enjoyed watching her favorite television Western, Gunsmoke, and watching the rainstorms roll in from her porch. Her greatest devotion, however, was to her family, especially her cherished grandchildren.
She leaves her memory to be cherished by her devoted husband, Angelo M. DiLeonardo Jr.; her children, Stephanie H. DiLeonardo-Kokos (Theodore L.) and Angelo M. DiLeonardo III (Angela Casper); her three treasured grandchildren, Donato M., Mia G, and Dario C. DiLeonardo; her siblings, Joe Speranza (Barbara), Rita Piccioni (Frank), and Charles Speranza; as well as a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. Her warmth and kindness will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she brightened.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings, Ann (Noni) Gabriel, Samuel Speranza, Carl Speranza, Josephine Clark, and Antoinette Braccia.
A memorial mass will be announced and held at a later date at St. Mary’s Church of The Parish of the Holy Cross, 732 Morton Ave, Bridgeton, NJ 08302.
